My story
I grew up as a very active person. Years of cheerleading, running track and doing gymnastics and teaching aerobics. All of the jarring, jamming, and compressing that took place over the years, finally took its toll on my back in my early 20’s.
At age 22 I began having back pain and over the next few years it became intolerable at times. If I just moved the wrong way, the pain would take me to my knees. There were times that it would get so bad that I couldn’t find a comfortable position. I couldn’t get out of bed, I couldn’t sit on the toilet by myself, I couldn’t shower, I couldn’t dress myself. And at times I would be like that for days on end. Unfortunately, all the doctors knew how to do was give me pain meds, anti-inflammatories, and muscle relaxers and have me do nothing till things settled down and I could move a bit.
